Deborah Steinberg
MD
Dr. Steinberg is a board-certified psychiatrist who also completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry and a residency in internal medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and obtained her medical degree from The Ohio State University. She did her psychiatry internship at NYU Medical Center and the remainder of her psychiatric training, including her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, at the prestigious Menninger Clinic. Before shifting her professional focus to psychiatry, she completed a full internal medicine residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. She has worked in a variety of settings including community health settings, VA hospitals, and private practice.
Because of her dual training in internal medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Steinberg prides herself on treating her clients as unique, whole persons with interconnected physical, emotional and psychosocial characteristics. She is always sensitive to how medical conditions can impact a person’s emotional state.
Dr. Steinberg is fortunate to have learned Spanish as a young child and is able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients in their native tongue.
At Kadima, Dr. Steinberg has been privileged to witness and be part of genuine, enduring, and truly transformational growth for so many clients. In general psychiatry, gains are often slowly incremental over months or years, but with ketamine therapy there is often a fast and remarkable change in clients’ mood and attitude.
Outside of work, Dr. Steinberg’s interests include hiking, traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with beloved family, friends and pets.
